Everyone deserves loyalty. I’ve always considered it one of my best attributes — but it’s rare to find in other people. And yet dogs seem to give it so freely.

Loyal is a piece inspired by a pic of a black dog that I took a few years ago. I loved his expression and how his hair sprouted out from his face. I think he has some Schnauzer in him. He was challenging to do in such a small size, but I wanted to do something more indicative of my other work for the auction piece this year.
