My Anglican priest falls under the leadership of the Bishop of Rwanda. After he was ordained, he asked the bishop how he could give back to his country, and the bishop said “sell our coffee.”
Today, the people of Bukonya gather together, overcome their history, Tutsi & Hutu alike, and work in the fields together. It is a wonderful story of redemption and beautiful to see their relationships — if even from afar. Jon was kind enough to share his pictures with me, and one of these was the inspiration for my Rwandan Lady.
Today, Jon distributes their coffee through Land of a Thousand Hills in Atlanta, GA — in three coffee houses and through many churches.
Inspired by a photograph by Jonathan Golden.
